You could use a drill press for steadiness. I found that I could simply hold the cone steady in one hand and twist the chisel in the other. Unless the chisel is in bad shape, it doesn't take more than a few seconds with each cone to get a good edge. You can also run the outside surfaces on a flat, fine grit sharpening stone. Again, just a few strokes and then shine with the finest stone or sandpaper (1000+ grit) that you have. I use a dry lubricant on the outside surfaces as needed. **Q: I received two of the #220 grit, but no 600 grit! Isn't this supposed to be a set?** A: It does appear that there should have been a 220 grit and a 600 grit in the set. Call Amazon, they will make it right. **Q: Do these work with Jet Brand hollow chisels?** A: I don't know why it would not work. The working edges of the chisel and sharpener are both circular. I have a Rikon mortiser and the sharpener gives me good results. ## Frequently Bought Together - Taytools 468433 Hollow Chisel Mortise 2-Piece Set of Diamond Sharpening Hones 200 and 600 Grit for Chisels Up To 1/2 Inch - Powermatic Premium Mortise Chisel and Bit Set (1791096) - Powermatic Benchtop Mortiser, 3/4" Chisel, 5-1/2" Stroke, 115/230V 1Ph (Model PM701) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/89367979-taytools-468433-hollow-chisel-mortise-2-piece-set-of-diamond](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/89367979-taytools-468433-hollow-chisel-mortise-2-piece-set-of-diamond) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
