HORRIBLE DESIGN and TERRIBLE SERVICE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BUY THE ENTIRE VALVE WHEN ALL THAT BREAKS IS THAT RED PLASTIC LEVER. **Q: does this work on the fluval 306 canister ?** A: yes it does **Q: is this valve for 406?** A: Yes the valve in for the Fluval 406 **Q: Is the white lever supposed to move? Don't ignore the warning signs of a failing valve! *by T***M on October 9, 2025* Excellent direct replacement part. It was a perfect fit, arrived quickly and most of all it stopped the massive leak that was flooding my living room. The seals on the original value had gone bad and I missed the indication that we had a problem until it was too late. The flow rate lever should move easily and our old one was almost impossible to adjust. Ultimately the seals failed and water began to leak. If you find yourself struggling to adjust the flow rate I would go ahead and put this part on order before you have a tsunami of aquarium water on the floor!
