I've been using a mouse sander to get most the varnish/chellac off so that I can wood dye the wood, but it's taken ages and it wasn't getting the last of it off. These different brushes have been really useful to somehow agitate the varnish so that I can then sand it off. The different sizes seem to be really useful for different edging/grooves and I'm pleased.
