I don't think they are in any way "surround sound" but the quality of the sound and build is very good. They also work on newer chromebooks with USBC- just use an adapter and zero issues! **Q: Is there any way to turn off the LED lights?** A: I haven't found one, but if it helps any, there are stages. First it annoyed me, then I ignored it and now when I get up and go to my dark office to start work, it's comforting. BUT, this is a great headset.
