You grab a section of your hair, clamp it in the middle of the brush and slowly blow dry/ flat iron as you normally do. It helps to smooth your frizzies or fly aways. **Q: How do you open it up wider? Mine won't open** A: At the base of the brush, where the 2 sides meet, there is a lock. If you put your fingers on both sides of the point and pull or, it should release the lock. **Q: Wet or dry hair?** A: Dry. I think it would be a nightmare for wet hair. Well maybe slightly damp hair would be OK. Or if your hair is on the thinner side. **Q: Is it just a brush or is it heated & is it good for thick hair** A: No, not a heated brush; whether good for thick hair I'm not sure. I have thick course hair at it's natural state and fine when straighten and the bristles are dense, tightly squeezed together and thick. I didn't use it on my hair because I was scared it would pull out my hair. It's similar to the brushes you buy at the store that people use to straighten and curl their hair at the same time (barrel brushes). This brush however, has a double set of bristles on top and bottom which helps you straighten your hair either by flat iron or blow drying. One thing I can definitely say about this brush hair straightener is that it does do the job in combination with the flat irons in making your hair bone straight! The only downside is that it pulled some stands of my hair out. I’m sure this would have happened with any comb or brush because hair does shed anyway. Also, I saw this product being used on tik tok along with flat plates to achieve a better hair straightening experience….. it works great! It was my first time trying it, but I need to keep practicing because trying to run two things at the same time on your hair is hard🥴With practice, hopefully I can manage the two together when trying to do my hair. I’m happy with my purchase, I just need to practice more with handling this double sided straightener along with the flat plates. The brush is lightweight and the perfect size for the job. It’s a great buy. I wish I could have done a video because when I did it for the first time with the flat irons and this brush straightener, my mouth dropped!!!
