Grubs tend to cause significant damage from Autumn to Spring by which time the larvae are becoming fully grown. When to use Trapping season: Place traps in a lawn area in May and continue trapping through June. It should be noted that the exact time of insect emergence will vary with location and season. How to use Trap placement and density for monitoring: The trap should be placed in lawn areas and hung 50-100cm above ground level. One trap will cover up to 2000sq.m or half an acre. It is also not the season to use it, so can't comment of its efficacy. I have heard great things from other allotment owners, with apple trees, though.
