The maps are very basic and lacking in detail. It would not be easy at all to use only the info and maps provided t follow these difficult hikes.

This is a great guide and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in hiking in Oman. The maps are clear and the hikes described very rewarding.However despite what the Synopsys above claims, it does NOT cover the Musandem Peninsula or the wooded mountains of Dhofar in the South.It only covers the Hajar Mountains around Muscat in the North, which are the most popular trekking area in the country.

The item is a box containing a set of maps and a slim booklet. The maps can be downloaded free from the Oman Tourist Office and I don't feel the booklet is worth the price.
