Also check out the sizing idea in this review. *by L***A on November 19, 2016* Ordered under Linda, but I am a guy. I was looking for something different than a baseball cap. I like this because it is not as tall as some of the other straw hats. The hat is 3 7/8" from the bottom of the ribbon to the top of the hat. At 6" 2", I didn't want more height. I also wanted the ability to curl the side brims a little, and I thought this style allowed that better than some others. The brim is about 3 inches wide. I think the hat is well made, and I liked the fact that it has a water-resistant coating. The hat allows a reasonable amount of air flow for me. I sweat a little while on the beach -- but I wanted a hat that didn't have noticeable holes in it.I took the advice of a reviewer of another hat and bought a size larger than my actual head size. Then, you can shrink it to the exact size of your head by holding it over a pan with steaming water. Try the hat on every minute or two until it is just right for you. Let it cool while you test it before putting it back over the pan. I left my hat a little loose so I don't get the "hat hair" look. You can also hold it over the pan to shape the brim if you want (I put a slight curl on both sides.) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Made in the USA, perfect fit, very well made. *by N***E on October 20, 2017* First and foremost, kudos to the Levine Hat Company for making this hat in the USA.I purchased this hat to wear at a Halloween costume party. After shopping extensively for a Gambler top straw hat, I found this to be one of only two with a size option that would accommodate my head size. When I can find one, I need a size 7 7/8". The largest I could order this Atlantic Gambler Panama in was 7 3/4". Knowing a straw hat had some flex, I took a chance. Good move! The hat fit perfectly. Furthermore, the quality of the hat is outstanding. It came well packaged and in a very nice hatbox. Given I would have spent nearly double for a Stetson, which I could only have gotten in a 7 5/8", I consider myself fortunate for rolling the dice with this Levine Company offering.For what it's worth, the hat looks so good, I'll wear it spring and summer to keep a cool head and the sun out of my eyes.I'm not sure yet whether or not I'll try to steam the curved rim out of it like the other reviewer. Were it not for a delay of one month in delivery, it would have all the stars.The fit was perfect, it was well formed and it came with a reducer in case it's a tad too large.
