The universal m-wedge and unit pops or clicks into place over the main tilt rod and when you tilt the outboard down it compresses the rubber for a cushioned stable platform. It and only five inches longs, so it fits in any boat storage compartment.

Could use to be a little more solid like almost plastic

Material is a bit to soft and just crushes under the weight of the motor. Could use to be a little more solid like almost plastic. Not 100% sure of the positive effect it is having. My units did not say M-Y wedge like the one in the picture. Could i have received the wrong item?

What i received did not look like it would do the job as advertised

*by K***4 on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2015*

What i received in the mail was not the item posted in the original picture. What i received did not look like it would do the job as advertised, supporting a 115hp outboard on long hauls. The original pic said made in USA on it, what i received in the mail came in a two pack and looked like it was now made in China. I don't see the need for two of these items????

Did not fit my boat correctly. The description doesn't match what you get. I have a single ram and the contents are for two rams. These hard rubber clips are usless!
