Review: Great Campfire Poker & Lid Lifter! - The poker arrived quickly and we took it with us on a recent 4-day camping trip. I like that it separates into 2 pieces because it's so much easier to pack in the same box with our other campfire necessities (although I did wrap the poker end in a scrap of cardboard to prevent any damage to other items during transit), and we assembled it at the campsite with a swiss army knife (all you need is a small screwdriver). We used this to stoke our campfire late into the evenings, and to lift the lid on our dutch oven whenever we were cooking over the fire. It worked very well for both purposes! I love that I didn't need separate tools for stoking and lid-lifting, and the fact that this item is so compact. We also disassembled the poker when we were packing to leave camp and stored everything back in the campfire box.

My only complaint would be that it’s a little loose and rattles a bit where the two pieces screw together. I had trouble getting one of the 2 screws to tighten all the way. I'm sure it's just a fluke. I got it pretty tight after some elbow grease and a bandaid from the screwdriver slipping. Seems nice and sturdy. Sure it will do the job.
