Sometimes you'll put your finger down to activate and after 5 seconds or so the light turns off and nothing happens. Sometimes you'll put your finger down to activate and it'll open but it varies between one second and six seconds. Sometimes you'll put your finger down to activate and it won't recognize your print but only after several seconds. I wouldn't count on it in a split second emergency. I ended up moving this from downstairs to my office where I might have extra time to screw around with it.Don't get me wrong, I've had GunVault products for 13yrs. I plan on buying another quick access handgun safe, it just won't be a biometric one again. ### ⭐ Warning Easy to bust open not safe for any gun/ or person. *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2020* If you want a safe, Safe, this is NOT it. My husband thought about purchasing a gun in March. I said in this situation cart before the horse. No safe, no gun!We did not get a gun but we did use the safe for keys, wallets & medication. We did this because we have a rebellious teen with a nicotine addiction as well as a love of getting high/ drunk and discovered he was stealing our $ and vehicles when we slept at night.We've had this safe since March 2020 and as of this week August 2020 we found out all it took was a big screwdriver and force to break it open. ( We have it on video as my son was desperate to get $).Thankfully we never did buy a gun because if a 15 year old with a little ingenuity can bust it open to get cash imagine what a robber or anyone else could do.Wish I could get my $90 back as it didn't keep stuff safe but that option is gone as it's been 4.5 months.* For those that wonder we do have our teen is counseling, we have had the local police speak with him including handcuffing, and he's grounded but nothing seems to matter when the nicotine need hits. The vape is so much more addictive than a regular cig.Again I can't even imagine what would/ could happen had we had a gun in the safe! ### ⭐⭐ I really wanted to love it but it's UNRELIABLE *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2020* I bought this because I wanted something that had an AC adapter so I didn't have to rely on batteries and also because it had a courtesy light. I wanted something "fancy" and instant access. It was great for the 1st week but now I'm a firm believer that Bio-metric safes are complete garbage. The build quality of this safe is a 10 but the functionality and reliability is a 1. The fingerprint scanner worked great for a week but once I got cleaned it with a cleaning cloth designed specifically for cleaning glass. It stopped recognizing my finger. I reprogrammed it now it has a maybe a 20 percent chance of working. I can't bet me or my families life on this hazard. There's also no way to disabled the loud beep. My wife got annoyed of the beep while she was in the kitchen which is about 30 ft away from our bedroom. So intruders would definitely hear me opening it.
