This feels more like fine sand inside a gel. The Lather & Wood face scrub might be more up your alley if you want a bit more "grit". I shave once or twice a week with a safety razor and this product seems to do a good job of prepping my face for a close and comfortable shave. As a matter of fact I feel like it even adds some lubrication and moisture to your face before you shave. I also use Brickell's shave oil. Very nice combo. Try them both. I like a bit more grit myself but I also can't say I don't approve of this face scrub either. CHOICES! **Q: Does this product contain microbeads?** A: No, this product has pumice and jojoba beads instead. Other answers have no ideas what microbeads are. Microbeads are micro-PLASTIC, which this product does not contain. **Q: What is the main scent in this?
