It's super-quiet and works very well. The controls let you fully customize how long each individual winder will rotate, and you can also set it to move each individual winder in alternate directions. The body of the winder is hard black plastic, and I was concerned that it would look like a piece of junk on my dresser. It actually looks really nice with the watches spinning away inside the door. Very modern looking. Right now I'm really happy with this winder, but I know that the real test is how long it will last and how long it takes for it to start getting noisy (they all seem to get loud after a period of time.) I took a star off because the 4 individual watch holders don't have any padding. Easy enough to fix, but it would have been a nice thing to include.
