I used heavy duty two sided tape to install (not included) however if it were out in the weather I would have considered clear silicone. You can easily break or cut the sections with a heavy pair of kitchen shears, wire cutter. If you buy these also purchase Gorilla 2 sided indoor/outdoor (mounting tape I think) that probably shows up when you purchase via Amazon. We have also just put them up in an indoor window where there is an indoor ledge (no outdoor ledge available). Overall...they seem to help. Btw...if you have a large area ledge I would suggest you put down several rows so birds cannot sit between the rows. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works *by D***R on July 8, 2023* I’ve been at war with two birds trying to nest on my front porch ledge. I tried the hanging deterrent products, which didn’t work at all. The birds simply flew in between them. But once I put up these plastic spikes, the problem was solved.
