Be precise sliding the brush back in, or it's possible to bend the bristles. I found it a bit confusing too at first. The small, double ended makeup sponges work pretty good as applicators, also... but of course won't fit into the little hideaway place in the lid. I got in white, pink and the merlot to contour etc and I have gotten so many compliments already. I used to use eye crayons but I’m sold on this creme.
