A++++ *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2020* Having used the cheapo version of siphons with the accordion looking plastic squeeze bulb, there is a night and day difference with this item. Years ago I got one of those cheapo siphons as part of a car emergency kit. I ended up using that siphon for emptying lawn mowers, snowblower, etc. at the end of the summer season. The results were mixed at best. The plastic bulb on the cheapo siphon ended up splitting thereby killing the old siphon.So, I searched on Amazon and ended up buying this siphon. The build quality is immediately apparent; the tubing is of high quality, the bulb is a nice rubber bulb (that looks almost medical grade), good instructions and a number of attachment pieces. This past summer, I needed to drain a truck gas tank before removing it from the vehicle. Since the tank was full it took several proper gas cans to unload; note, always use approved gas cans to store gasoline. Each time I used this siphon it simply worked and did a great job. I managed to almost empty the tank. When pulling the tank's drain plug, there was only a little left in there which would not have been an issue at all if the tank was dropped with that remnant of gasoline. If you are in the market for a good siphon I would highly recommend this one. There may be some cheaper alternatives out there but this one is well worth it if you plan on using it more than once. It is well built, easy to use and simply gets the job done. Looking back, I only regret not getting this siphon sooner. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for draining gas from smaller machines *by K***H on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019* I have lots of small engines on machines around the house. This siphon pump is great. The hoses unroll straight and don’t stay curled up. The squeeze ball has a valve in it so you can just pump it without having to put your thumb over one end of the tube to create suction. If you live in a cold climate, the squeeze ball stays soft and usable when it is cold out. This product is well thought out and is great for small jobs.I used to have a cheap style of siphon like this. It was terrible. The hose always stayed curled (sometimes I would wrap a wire around it to try and keep it straight). Priming the pump was a real pain because it didn’t have a valve. By the time winter rolled around, I would lose my mind if I had to use it because the ball would freeze — I would have to warm it up in my hands and freeze to death getting it to work.Do yourself a favor and buy this instead of a cheaper variant of this that will leave you with frozen hands, covered in gas, and swearing at the hose that refuses to straighten out! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Slow *by R***H on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2016* Bought to do oil change on my Mercruiser 3.0L inboard/outboard (i.e. GM 4-cylinder). I ran the engine at operating temp for a while to heat the oil. The white tube was barely too wide to fit in the factory dipstick tube so I had to replace with a thinner hose. That could have contributed to slowness but it felt like I was pumping one tablespoon per squeeze. Each squeeze was about half the volume of the filter. It was the slowest, most ridiculous oil change of my life. I wasn't timing but it could have taken an hour just to pump out the 4 quarts or so. Squeeze, watch the filter half fill and drain while waiting for the ball to expand so I could squeeze again.I tried to get it to self siphon with my dirty oil container lower than the boat oil pan. I'd pump to get it going then open to bypass but it would never start self siphoning.Overall the product appears and feels like it is very high quality and would probably last a long time - not that I'm sure I'd ever use it again.
