Based on the level of doneness of the meat when eaten compared to the desired temperature, I believe it is very accurate. Took the guess work out of cooking meat safely. And who does that? No one uses those silly recommendations. Meat becomes shoe leather. So, no alarm, just gotta keep your eye on it. Which is NOT why I spent 36 bucks on this meat thermometer. I could have spent 9 bucks at Walmart for that.Other than this MAJOR pain in my back side, the thing works OK. Seems accurate, brisket comes out as expected. But this issue is very irritating to me.UPDATE: I attempted to retract this review after having figured out how to set the second probe's target temperature. Since that didn't work, I'll leave it up and move from 4 to 5 stars. We just built a new outdoor kitchen with a big smoker this last year, and this will be our first season with having it up and running. I've been buying things we need for it a little bit a time This set is perfect. He can walk away and not need to set constant reminders and alarms on his phone, this will keep him up to date on what's happening back at the smoker. It has two separate probes, so he can monitor two different meats, or two areas of the same meat. He's used it once so far this year, and I can already tell it's going to take his grilling and smoking game to a whole new level. He's already planning for his next opportunity.
