Review: A great replacement stylus at a very affordable price. - I chose this stylus to replace an old, original Shure stylus for my M95EJ cartridge. The M95EJ originally came fitted with the N95EJ stylus which was of a lower spec than the stylus fitted to the M95ED cartridge. Whether or not the Thakker versions of the N95EJ and the N95ED have different stylus tips is not something I have knowledge of. Apart from their different colours I suspect they are essentially the same stylus. On the off chance the N95ED was slightly better I decided to get it. Despite my initial reservations about buying a non-OEM replacement stylus (Shure no longer make this type of stylus) I am pleased to say the results produced by this Thakker stylus are excellent. The stylus was fitted to the turntable in my lesser hi-fi system featuring a Sansui SR222 Mk1 turntable, Yamaha AX-392 amplifier and Tannoy 609 speakers on their custom stands. The sound quality really is fabulous on a variety of records from my eclectic collection. Incidentally, the part number printed of the small plastic box it comes in is NB-00343/JICO. Jico (also know as the Nippon Precision Jewel Industry Co. Ltd.) are the manufacturers of the stylus and have their own website which features their wide range of replacement styluses (stylii). Review: I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE SOUND QUALITY BUT NOT HIGH TRACK AS THE SURE - I have been trying to get a M95ed cartridge with original stylus from auction sites but after 2 purchases from 2 different sellers getting lost in the post !
