Perfect size with a nice lip around the outsides of the plates, not to look like a bowl though. The four different colors are beautiful neutral with robin egg speckled. They are heavier than the normal. I wouldn't suggest it for little kids putting them in the sink LOL they are fun twist on regular dining colors.
