I tested this in Beijing, Guangzhou and in local towns of Guangdong. I do suggest you get multiple sim cards if you plan to stay in China for over 2 weeks and have minimal access to internet. These cards are cheaper if you buy them in Hong Kong as well.Regardless, I highly recommend this product. You should screen capture the APN information too before you go on your trip in case you use an android phone and the settings don't work automatically.
