This brush does NOT have those plastic tips! It works beautifully for blow-drying. My fine hair is just below shoulder length, I bought the largest diameter brush. My hair wraps around the brush with no trauma -no snarls, no breakage. My hair is left soft, wavy, full of body and shine. I have noticed that a few bristles have fallen out of the brush, but nothing major, no "holes" left in brush. And I'd rather have a few bristles fall out of the brush, than have my hair yanked out of my head!
