I wanted to try a Jasmine varietal, because it's my favorite rice variety. I like these single portion, heat & serve rice, because of the convenience with taking to work or for random cravings. Also great for people trying to control their carb intake, or people who live alone. I did like this, but it does dry out pretty quickly. However, it starts out in a drier state than short grain versions. Part of that is the nature of this variety of rice, and part of is inherent of this brand. The taste was comparable to home-cooked rice. The scent was more muted than home-cooked.
