It has some interesting and useful information on how to use hypnosis for erotic purposes but a lot of it I found unuseful for me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars THE book on the subject *by J***X on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2013* I bought this book as a surprise for my girlfriend, who has a hypnosis fetish. We hadn't really explored that in our relationship because I was utterly terrified of hypnotising her, for fear I'd do some sort of accidental psychological damage. While I'm still extremely nervous (because, well, if people were dogs I'd be one of those twitchy little Chihuahuas who piddles on the floor when the doorbell rings), I have to say, this book has gone a long way in making me feel more confident and capable about integrating that aspect into our BDSM play. In fact, it's about as reassuring as you can get - WAY less sketchy than most of the stuff I was reading online, which tends to quickly crumble into how to ~secretly~ hypnotize your partner into "doing whatever you want," which just sounds beyond gross and abusive.My only disappointment with this book is that I wanted more from Peter Masters, who is a noted author on the psychological aspects of kinky sex and BDSM, on the connection between hypnosis and those behaviors. My limited readings and discussions seem to show a VERY strong link between the hypnosis "trance" state and the "sub-space" state described by many BDSM submissives, and I wish this relationship was better explored by the community just to give us a better understanding of what each of those things entails. Instead, hypnosis seems to generally be seen as a fringe element of the BDSM community, which makes it a difficult thing to research, and I wanted Masters to draw those two sides together more closely in a "dammit these are actually pretty similar" way.Also, it's a wee bit heteronormative, but honestly, that doesn't really faze me at this point. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good! *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2012* This was a very interesting read. This teaches you how to hypnotize effectively, how to measure how deeply someone is hypnotized (and how to get them deeper into trance, thusly more real sensations), tips on how to word things for the very literal minded hypnotized, and gives you ideas of what to do with hypnosis as well as some scripts for couples and if you just want to give your significant other a solo treat. It includes a variety of common scenario fetishes including mile high club, slave/master, sex on the beach, and so on. It is written very well and flows wonderfully, it was marvelously difficult to put down. It is well worth the price!My husband and I have already been enjoying hypnosis in our relations but this book had taught us many useful things.Hypnosis is a great way to loosen inhibitions. Though if you REALLY don't want to you still will not preform something you wouldn't want to do, so don't worry about being taken advantage of, and you still will remember your wonderful adventures. Even a perfectly happy sex life can use a little spice now and then, and this is a useful addition to your tool box. If you have any fetishes or scenarios you've always wanted to try but never had the chance, or were a little afraid/shy to, this is the answer. This even can help remove performance anxiety and make you more or less sensitive to a certain extent. All these things and more are outlined in the book.
