It features a jimmy-resistant design which prohibits forced entry when attempts are made to spread the door away from the frame. This is a surface-mounted, cross-bolt locking device which can be mounted to 1-3/8 in. to 2-3/8 in. thick, wood or metal doors. This door lock includes an angled strike, a rim cylinder, 2 keys, a cylinder trim ring, fasteners, a mounting plate, instructions and a tamper-resistant shutter guard. This lock requires a 1-1/4 in. hole and uses Segal keyway. it is keyed differently, but it is also available keyed alike via special order from manufacturer. **Q: What is the diameter of the hole I need to drill in the door to mount this?**
A: the instructions indicate that you are to drill an inch and one quarter hole in the door.

**Q: Does one need to install the outside key entry component, or can it be used as an inside only night latch?**
A: Yes, instructions are provided for both configurations, inside security latch, or deadbolt style operation.  I used both configurations. Deadbolt for front door, and security latch for inside door to garage.  If using as high security use be sure to use long screws, ones included not long enough to reach internal wall studs for added strength.  Door frame itself not strong enough for high security.

**Q: Can this lock be used on either a left or a right hinged door?**
A: Yes.  I've mounted it both ways.

**Q: What the is minimum thickness of door this lock will work for?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good lock but make sure the strike plate latch fits /molding frame of your door

This replaced a stainless steel Segal lock that looked same as this one. The four long screws went over the old Segal at exactly the same positions, but the height of this new lock is a little shorter than the old one, so there is a little space between the door and the base of this lock. It is not a perfect fit but I use this lock for added security only, I do not use the keys that came with it, as this door has another main lock with key. I also had to use my old strike plate or called latch?, because the strike plate/latch that came with this lock is a 90 degree L-shaped one that does not fit over my door frame/molding which angles inward, not 90 degrees. Make sure to ask for the proper strike plate/latch before ordering. So, I have a brass colored lock with a steel colored receiving end latch; alittle funny looking but I don't want to bother with the return right now because the lock works just fine. I wish they had advertise which strike plate they were selling to begin with though, otherwise the lock is very good, smooth, quiet and very affordable.
