The material is far better than any normal grade plastic used for clipboards as any plastic board of such thickness (around 3-4 mm) would bend rather easily but not this one! The board has a matt finish on its upper surface which looks decent and the material is lightly translucent. The clip seems to be of steel but not sure at this stage as it will be clear after use for sometime. Overall I would recommended this product as it's quite light to carry, bigger in dimensions than most standard exam pads and has a very hard surface to write on.
