Big, cheap, sharp, and most importantly - it's not a TV
Delivery was very fast and careful from CCL via DPD. If you're using this occasionally as a second monitor via VGA and you can't switch it on after it's been asleep: hit the "On" button on the remote, then quickly press "Source" - after it switches on, hit the "Source" button again to make the "Source" selection disappear.I don't possess a TV and never want to, but finding a large 1080p monitor these days is tough! My favourite manufacturers are only touting 4k for silly money, which led me to buy this, and it's not bad overall: colours are nowhere near as present nor as accurate as an IPS screen, but they are somwhat better than on a TN panel. I don't use this for any colour accurate work - I use IPS screens for that. This HannSPREE 40" is great for clarity if your eyesight is failing and you want a large, cheap, sharp monitor for non-colour critical work. It's bright, the screen is reflective in a bright room, it's colours are wrong and the sound is slightly better than a cheap TV, but sufficiently tinny and clear to make speech intelligible. There is no lower mid or bass, therefore it's awful for music. The panel is very lightweight, easy to lug about your domicile. The stand is easy to fit, but worryingly the self tapping screws, which secure the stand screw directly into plastic - it feels faily sturdy but it'd be a bad idea to unscrew and rescrew the stand too often, or situate it on a swaying ship or in an earthquake zone, because plastic will eventually lose it's thread. Screwing into metal bolts, bonded within the frame would have been a stronger design, but slightly more costly for HannsPREE. I really wish that HannSPREE didn't use such ultra sticky clear tape at the top and bottom edges - it's actually STUCK TO THE SCREEN! I should imagine that the LCD panel, or the layer of plastic which covers the LCD panel could be very badly damaged by this, if one tries to remove it too fast. Nervous of tearing the panel out of it's frame, I peeled off this absurdly sticky tape at precisely the pace at which grass grows, while slowly pulling flat against the screen towards the edges of the frame. Thankfully there was no residue.Contrast is very good, far better than IPS, it has wide viewing angles, and blacks are very black. Trying to correct the colours to match those on a IPS panel is a futile endeavour but if you wanted to attempt your best approximation, there is a hidden "Engineer's Menu" accessible by pressing "Menu" then rapidly "OK" three times and swiftly "Menu" again - there in the hidden, hallowed secret menu meant only for the eyes of warrior monk engineers of the mysterious East... and now you... dear reader. Here in this space thick with the magic of technological wizardry and illuminated by arcane blue actinic mist, you may at long last change tint and saturation, restore defaults or try a firmware update, which may or may not work and/or brick your HannSPREE.

Excellent value for money. Very good picture.
Large clear picture. No fancy HDR or 144Mhz high frequency setting etc at this price point, but the picture quality is about as good as it gets with 1080p @ 60Hz.It comes with a full remote control unit, this will control various monitor functions and can be used to control other devices (e.g. a blu ray player) which conform to the HDMI CEC standard. It has built in speakers below the monitor. they are dire, though functional. There is a 3.5mm audio out jack that can be used to plug it into external speakers.I installed it on a VESA mount. I had to use 2 screws as opposed to 4 due to the unusual layout of the screw holes on the back. x2 screws will hold it, the panel itself is not heavy, but you will need to buy the right adaptor plate to use all 4 screws. I haven't bothered

Great full hd screen for a very reasonable price
This screen is very good for a price around 300 euros or less, it depends of what you want to do with it. Basically it is more a TV than a "real" PC monitor, but a TV without tuner (interesting if you live in France...). So for movies or games it's great. Backlight bleeding is almost inexistant on mine and image quality is good, viewing angles are ok plus the blacks are deep enough, much better than certain IPS screens that worth the double. It's light weight and as a commercial screen it should last. The USB input can only be used to plug a usb key to the (poor) integrated media player, unfortunatly it is not a usb hub. Now with this resolution and size don't expect to use it with a PC at a close distance for everyday use and being amazed with the finesse of the picture (above 1 meter it's ok) or for precise tasks like photo editing, graphic art works etc.

Brilliant, great for a TV substitute.
Pros: great size, handy remote, lots of connection options.Cons: colours are a bit off if reading text on the screen (hey this is a monitor not a tv after all) , also some light bleed at edges but not significant enough to complain about.

Does the job
economic way of having media screens. Ive used this im my store. You can upload images to a USB and the screen will play it immediately when turned on. The remote feels cheap but overall serves its purpose.
