It's nice, thick glass, and much higher quality than the plastic lens that came in it. It came with a new O-ring seal making it waterproof again. The fit was perfect for a 2 D cell Maglite. It's not going to improve battery life. I don't know why that's even a recommendation to mention below. I like it, and would happily buy another in the future if needed.
