If the middle chamber was smaller it would not do that. It did give me relief from nerve pain from my compressed disks. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Fit my Neck *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2019* This collar gives a good level of neck support. It is made of fairly good materials and seems fairly durable. However, it does not fit my 16-1/2" neck comfortably. The velcro straps are not long enough to make good contact, and often they slip apart, not allowing me to maintain the fit around my neck. When they work, they barely hold and can bind my throat a bit, making it a little uncomfortable. Also, the air bladder (or the valve, not sure which) tends to loose a little air over time, so I need to give it a couple more pumps occasionally to keep the same level of support. I find that my head is held firmly in place, with no ability to rotate my neck, so that I must turn my shoulders and torso to view things out of the primary plane of my vision while wearing the device.
