And it is easily wide enough and strong enough to accommodate the biggest and heaviest pans such as a 12 inch cast iron pan. Note that adjusting the legs requires a little strength but once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal. Really great product but it's not for backpacking as it is too heavy. It also comes with a built in wind screen on two sides which should be helpful.
