No sanding between coats on this project. **Q: Is this waterproof? I’m looking for a waterproof gloss coating for homemade coasters** A: Absolutely 100% waterproof. I usually use 2 to 3 Coats. **Q: Will this work on Resin?** A: I've never personally used it on resin, but it works wonderfully on plastics and other materials. **Q: Description says polyurethane. But isn't this water based? Poly is oil based. I want a totally matte, waterproof coating for on top of acrylic paints** A: This will do what you are looking for. I have another brand of varnish and it also says it’s a water based polyurethane to be used over acrylic paints. I have used different brands of this product for many years without any problem. I recommend 3 coats, drying well in between, and read any directions on the bottle. I’ve had as many years using these water based varnishes as they’ve been around.
