Review: It works excellent. This is my third unit in the past ... - For me, I use this under a sink in my wet bar, I do not have floor drain lines, as, mine are located 3 feet off the floor. My Saniflo pumps the “waste Water” from the sink through 40’ of 3/4” PVC pipe. It works excellent. This is my third unit in the past 6 years. What I have learned from past experiences and why I’ve been through 3 of them, is, this pump is NOT a grinder pump, don’t expect it to chew up food, it’s not a garbage disposal. 2nd, since it does not just flow downward to a gravity drain like the rest of your home, it actually needs to PUMP the fluid, so don’t keep pouring sugary type drinks into it(like soda) or other, even beer and alcohol WITHOUT running water with it. If you do, the sugar base will foul the internal float and prevent it from turning on and the fluids will back up in your sink. YOU MUST RUN WATER WHEN POURING ANYTHING IN THE DRAIN OTHER THAN WATER ITSELF. Trust me, I’ve replaced 2 of these already. If you watch what goes into it, your good to go. I do now. I have no issues with cold water. I have no issues with hot water. I have no issues with the “Pumping” noise it makes. The Saniflo works great. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
Review: good product - easy installation, good performance

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Bought in oct already quit working, what the warranty for replacement**
A: JUNK! This piece of equipment is garbage and so is the warranty. The company will say you installed it incorrectly so the warranty is voided. Stay away from Saniflo Saniswift!

**Q: How does this system function in a kitchen where occasional food pieces may wash down the drain?**
A: Thanks so much for contacting us. The SaniVITE is designed to grind up small food particles and handle the grease from a kitchen sink. It's also designed to work with a garbage disposal, which we recommend. Please download the full installation manual from our website here: http://www.upflushtoilet.com/collections/saniflo-toilet/products/saniflo-sanivite or give us a call if you have any further questions: (855) 70-FLUSH (855-703-5874) Sincerely - Support Team @ UpflushTOILET.com

**Q: Has anyone used this on a concrete slab home? Such as an Eichler style home or midcentury modern.**
A: Yes I put one in at a conceret slab home, for stackable washer dryer that was added to a closet. Ran drain up and over to toilet vent pipe to drain it. Works great

**Q: why do i need a vent to pump utility sink to outside ?**
A: The pump will pull extra air to help force the water out without pulling it through the intake line...so it doesn't suck the water out of the utility sink. Normally a regular drain will pull air in through the vent line so that the water flows properly and does not pull a vacuum. It is a functional and code requirement. If this is only for a utility sink...not in a bathroom or regular plumbing situation...then you can just install a one-way air valve that can be found in any home improvement store. This will just keep it from sucking stuff into the pump. Just note that this may not meet code and I believe the instructions say not to do this. I can't understand why, as long as it has a fresh air supply. Hope this helps.
