Load Capacity Type I Duty Rating D1816-2EQ From the Manufacturer Werner Company's new revolutionary Equalizer 250 pound duty rating (Type I) aluminum extension ladder. The Equalizer is the first ladder with a fully integrated, innovative, factory-installed leveling system that promotes the safe use of an extension ladder on uneven ground. The Equalizer is so easy to use. Its leveler leg with the dual-channel holes allows the ladder to be adjusted in 3/8-inch increments up to 8-1/4-inch to help the user set the ladder accurately. A durable zinc-plated steel locking pin with the detent ball secures the leveler at the proper height, the pin stays put and so does the ladder. Another great feature is The Equalizers' bright blue inset surface with a built-in bubble level, the patent-pending EverLevel System, to help level the ladder side to side. The EverLevel bubble level is recessed into the rung and is resistant to cold temperatures and rugged use. Plus, the step's distinctive surface and color help the user know they are one step from the ground. They only wanted to deliver during the business day so without my flexible schedule, someone would have had to take the day off.

Sturdy and safe in the 3 times I've used it getting onto the 2nd story roof of my house (26 feet up). I use the level (on the bottom rung) every time I place the ladder... nice feature... even fun. The locks are top notch. The pulleys glide quite smoothly. Sadly, the "equalizer system" at the bottom probably won't get much use on my property. Regardless, this is one top quality ladder. Extending the ladder is easy enough but when you try to retract it the latches catch on every rung. It required a second person to push and hold the latches while being lowered.
