It had a good run, but I was ready for something that felt a little more adult workspace than crowded kids starter desk.I finally settled on this, thinking if it was terrible at least I wasn't out 100+ on it. My expectations were low, but even if they hadn't been I would have been pleasantly surprised by this desk!Pros: • Surprisingly sturdy and HEAVY! You can make it wiggle a little bit if you try shaking it, but I don't feel at all concerned about it ever collapsing. I can easily push away or pull myself to it without moving the desk itself while in my desk chair, and that makes me very happy. • Sharp looking. I didn't have any defects, cracked veneer, or chipped paint. It's all very nice! • Extremely easy to put together! Only two types of bolts, comes with a wrench, and the instructions are easy to follow. I've included photos of the instructions. • Easy to disassemble if you were to move or modify. This would be great for someone who rents. Also, if the table top itself were ever to fail, or you were to get bored of it, it's a few bolts to remove it and it could easily be replaced with a solid wood top. • If you have cats, they will love it!Cons • If you have difficulty with heavy objects then you may need an extra hand to assemble it. The table top is already secured to several metal beams when it arrives which makes it something you have to wrestle a bit with. • Black top shows all your fingerprints, pet prints, dust, hair, pretty much everything lighter than black. I already knew this going in, but it might be a deal breaker for someone else! • Not good for hard floors unless you add furniture pads! As you can see in my photos, the adjustable bases for the desk are made of hard plastic, and I can see them just scratching a hard floor like crazy. Luckily, I keep furniture pads on hand, so this wasn't an issue. On carpet they'd likely leave some very annoying impressions, so cardboard or other flat item would be a good idea to avoid indentations. • Not great for clamp on accessories. I have a cheap, clamp on microphone arm and the C-clamp isn't quite large enough to reach down all the way. There is very little overhang for the actual table top, so I am going to have to be careful how much I pull on the stand when moving it. I've already had it slide off once :) NOTE: If you were to replace the table top down the line, you could easily make one with more of an overhang for clampable accessories. • If you have cats, they will love it!Additional: • There is a slight texture to the top of the desk. Nothing major, just helps items from slipping around so much on it. • If you have arms on your desk chair, they will likely slide under the table top and stop at the cross beam. This is nice in my opinion, because my chair will only get comfortable close to the desk. • If you are upgrading from a desk that's the width of your chair, the space on this will feel luxurious.All in all, this desk is a no frills, easy to customize, sleek looking, budget option for anyone who wants to upgrade their work space. I just dont know what it is with the packaging. It had one other bad reveiw for the packaging and mine was the same. It had a dent in the wood and the laminate was cracking right on the corner. Its not enough to dissasemble ship back and wait for another but i was dissapointeed. Only reason it doesnt get 1 star is because every other aspect about it is good. Its a solid desk! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy Frame, Weak Wood *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2019* I've been using this desk for about a month or so. First, I'll say that I love the desk's sturdyiness and the desk space. So once you get it up it as great. Good table if you need something functional, strong, and cheap.However, construction was a pain because of what seemed like inconsistent hole sizes for the bolts and the angles they were installed. Some were easy others took several tries to stop hanging or getting started.My biggest issue is that the wood surface is not secured to the frame as it should be. The middle of the board has a large chunk removed from where it should be attached to the frame. There is also areas where the screws have pulled out whatever plastic pieces that they used act as the grip. So the result is a shoddily applied slab of wood on a nice frame.In the end, I didn't return it because I spent too much time putting it together and needed the desk then.
