Review: Worked from day 1 - This leash is the best thing I’ve ever bought for my dog. He’s 1 year and 4 months old, and I’ve bought at least five different harnesses since I got him, including very expensive ones like DogfriendlyCo. He pulls with every single one of them. I bought this leash a while ago, but I only used it once because I was afraid he would get hyperactive and choke himself. He hated it at first and tried really hard to get out of it. Today, after four months, I decided to give it another try and omg! This is the first time I’ve been able to walk him without feeling anxious or embarrassed. He walked by my side the whole time, and the leash stayed loose. Iwould only pull a little when he wanted to go ahead of me. I could tell he enjoyed the walk and so did I. The pulling problem was still there, and would only get worst if we came across a squirrel. As soon as we started using this lead, he’s become much more responsive to my corrections. As soon as he is too far in front of me, even without actually pulling, I give it a quick, gentle tug and a “Chh!” and he‘s learned that he needs to slow down. If he actually pulls and won’t immediately respond to my correction, we’ll sometimes stop walking altogether until he sits, calms down, and realizes that we’ll only walk at my pace. This lead has helped tremendously and there’s rarely ever any tension on the lead when walking now. It’s hard to believe it has only been a week since I’ve started using it, and I don’t believe I’ll go back to using the traditional leash unless absolutely necessary. **Q: Lead keeps sliding down on neck.  How do you keep it in place without having to tight**
A: Well I hate to tell you but it is almost impossible unless your dog walks at heel. Cesar has a much better and wider collar with the same slip lead function that helps keep the slip lead in place nearer the dogs ears. If I buy another one, it will be the new $45.00 one. Right now I'm using a choke collar made of steel but my Labrador walks at the heel about 60% of the time. His obedience training classes seem to go much better with this setup. Hope this helps you.

**Q: Why is this not recommended for puppies?**
A: It is because puppies necks are not fully developed until about 18 months

**Q: Getting reviews that the lead is not good for small dogs.  i have a 11 mo old lhasa apso.  will it work for him?**
A: This lead works for my 9# Yorkie. It takes some getting used to but it worked. I used two leashes at first until I felt comfortable with it. She would pull a lot and drag us where she wants to go but she didn’t do that with this leash. One thing I sound caution you on is excessive jerking on the neck. You could damage the thyroid so keep it high on the neck. I didn’t need to pull up hardly at all. I would prefer a little narrower rope for a small dig but since it works that is all that matters. Hope this answers your question.

**Q: What size leash should i order for an 18 lb cavalier king charles spaniel?**
A: I have only seen 2 sizes, but believe both are 48" in length.  The small size is thinner and would be a better fit for your King Charles.  If you are unfamiliar with Cesar's slip lead, I highly recommend viewing the video before using.  The slip lead is a wonderful tool.
