The cord is not connected to the fan, you will have to connect the wires to the motor. So if you need a longer ord you can buy one and wire it to the motor. **Q: Does the thermostat just plug into the wall and the fan into the thermostat? I don't see anything that shows me where the thermostat gets it's power.** A: Yes, the thermostat is plugged into the wall, and the fan plugs into the thermostat. In installed an outlet high on the wall of my shed. I wanted it high so it would sense the hotter temperature in my shed. I did purchase the service plan, just in case. Very easy install, and so far it is amazing and worth every penny.
