It only takes little less than 3 min for the water to boil. I love this teapot! I got it for my 91 yr old mother to use for tea water. She had Alzheimers and wasn’t safe for her to use my gas stove. Unfortunately, because it was new and her short term memory was pretty much non-existent she was only able use it a couple of times with my instruction. She did really like it though. I have used it from then on for her tea and mine rather than the stove.
