These knives look very nice and work well. As some others have stated the wood starts to splinter a bit after a while, but it has barely happened to mine and it doesn't affect the performance or feel. I'm not sure but it may be some people putting them into the dishwasher (which you should not do). I love the variety of the knives and the stick sharpener.
