More importantly, I tested it with a strong 14lb magnet before I used it and there was no attraction. This indicates a low iron content which is very good. A high iron content would be more likely rust (yes, some advertised stainless steel can rust). I've used the tongs multiple times and it still looks as good as the day I purchased it. If you ever buy, for example, a gas grill, buy a good one and pay the extra cost. It pass the magnet test (including the SS grates). Hint: Take your magnet to the store with you for testing when it says stainless steel! **Q: Where are they made?** A: Don't know doesn't say on the product. **Q: Where are they manufactured?** A: Not positive. I didn't look into where they were made when I bought them. There is nothing on them that says where they were made. I googled the company which is Hiash and I found one mention where they say a company by the name Edward Gome manufactures all of their products. If it's like every thing else in this country then they are probably from China. **Q: Will metal tongs be not rust after using the dishwasher?** A: They're stainless steel.
