If so, where and how much are refills for this product?** A: This test has several capsules for each test you want to run. My soil was really depleted. So I tested the first time to see what it needed, and then added those nutrients, and a week later tested again. I used the recommendations on the instructions to "fix" the soil, and it worked really well. The kit is easy to us. Read the FULL INSTRUCTIONS on the inside. The short version does not work. It will take a few hours or even days for some, because you have to put the soil in "purified" water, and let the soil settle to the bottom and the liquid become as clear as possible. I bought these on Amazon and if I remember right paid less than $10 for the complete kit. It was cheaper that way. I love these tests. Hope this was helpful. **Q: can you use it for several seasons.. or do the chemicals go bad once opened to the air?** A: The chemicals are in capsules. I used mine throughout the season last year on multiple foot plots around our property. Each variety of capsule is in its own sealable baggie also. You should be good as long as you keep them away from open moisture. **Q: how many capsules do you get and how easy are they to find?** A: There were 10 capsules for each test, easy to do, and fairly accurate I think. I'm a science teacher and have used this type of test before. They were color coded and in separate bags. **Q: Can i get spare capsules for the tester on amazon?** A: If you want to test across multiple seasons, look for "Luster Leaf 1880 Rapitest Tester Electronic 4-Way Analyzer, Soil". The meter can be used over and over without regard to having any chemical capsules to use. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Directions are adequate, seemed to work well. Let's me target my fertilizer better! *by on Reviewed in the United States May 21, 2026* I agree with the other reviewers. I thought that I could do all 4 tests 20 times, but the tablets are enough for each test 5 times. It was easy to use, a little messy and for NPK, you need to brew your soil in water, shake well and let settle for up to 24 hours.I haven't had my soil tested through the ag extension office, so hard to know if the tests are close to accurate or accurate. But now that I'm a little more mature gardener, I need to be doing a better job of giving my flowers the nutrients they need. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Luster Leaf 1602 Boden-Set *by on Reviewed in Germany November 6, 2024* Lieferung wie verschprochen. Artikel wie beschrieben. ### ⭐ Didn't work for me *by on Reviewed in Australia March 28, 2022* I was very keen on using this test to test my soil here in Australia.Unfortunately only the K one triggered a result. Tried it twice (once with really cloudy and once with less cloudy water.)I find it hard to believe that my luscious well maintained and well fertilised lawn is completely devoid of N+P. ## Frequently Bought Together - Rapitest Soil Test Kit for Gardens, Vegetables, Flowers and Lawns.
