Review: I bought 7 of these for a complete surround sound system. Yes, i got the idea from Tech Ingredients on YouTube! I was initially not even remotely happy with them. I tried using them with the 24" x 24" foam panels you can get from the big box stores. The sound was really hollow. Even paired with a good quality subwoofer, there were a lot of frequencies missing. However, i realized two things - first, it was partly my fault for how i was mounting them. And second, they work way better with the acoustic ceiling tiles. In the picture, you can see the front five speakers - mains, center channel, and the "height" speakers for atmos. I also have another pair of them for the rear surround, mounted on the ceiling above the couch that viewers will be using. Everything sounds amazing, given the price. I love the way they look, and although the sound is not quite perfect, it's plenty good for my setup as a second media room. I bought these things on sale, paying $20 something for each. The ceiling tiles are $20 for a set of three. I made some mounts out of plywood with a little accent strip of scrap purpleheart. The tiles are hanging on some cheap black monofilament. So the entire 7 speaker setup was only about $200 dollars. Maybe $250 if you include the speaker wire and the paint i used. This was a very satisfying project, and was absurdly easy. The speakers sound good, and really fill the room with nondirectional sound. The frequency response is not perfect, but there are lots of things you can do to improve that - specifically by adding additional panels of different sizes and shapes down the road. If you want a weekend project to make some great conversation starting speakers that sound pretty great, buy these right away. I don't think you will regret it.
Review: Hab das Teil als ABS Feedbackgeber an meinem Pedal. Funktioniert einwandfrei und gibt den Effekt gut wieder .

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is speaker wire supposed to be soldered to the hook-ups?**
A: Yes and no. Soldering the connection will work fine and will likely be a great connection. But read on- Solder tends to wick up the wire when being soldered. The point where that stops is a high-stress point. Since this is an item that tends to vibrate(the whole point of a speaker), and since copper is a material that work hardens, this can affect long term durability. After a while, the wire will have a tendency to snap. Some would say that this would be a prime example of when crimped on spade connectors should be used. Excellent crimps are not the easiest to achieve both in technique and in tooling. An average crimp will probably have a similar failure rate to an average solder connection. Both of which should last several years. For a better solder connection, use a smaller amount of solder that doesn't wick too far up the wire with a bit of heat shrink that makes the wire bend past the wicking point.

**Q: can i connect this to class d subwoofer amplifier?**
A: Yes, you can...but be mindful of the power rating. These are rated at 40 watts, and while they can likely stand slightly higher peaks, if you were to connect them to (for instance) a 100-watt or higher amp and run at high levels (approaching the 100W rating) for extended periods, you risk cooking the voice coil...which obviously means the end of your exciter! Stick with the ratings and have fun! :-)
Also, please be aware that the frequency response, on these, drops off pretty sharply anywhere below 100Hz! So, if you were planning to use these as subs, you may be a bit disappointed. These are not the 'floor shakers' that you may have heard of, though they're based on similar technology. Good luck!

**Q: Does this come in a pair?**
A: No, just comes with one. Which is a huge rip off. Check out Parts Express and you can get them for between 20-25$ a piece.

**Q: Can these be placed on large glass windows in a home? Could it crack the glass?**
A: They definitely could be placed onto a hard surface like glass. They will sound like a tweeter. These are very heavily influenced by the shape and material they are placed upon. The relatively large window panel will help longer wavelengths (lower frequencies)but will be overshadowed by the stiffness of glass (which will really bring out shorter wavelengths(higher frequencies)) As for cracking the glass, it is unlikely, however, there are certain frequencies that allow you to add energy over time and add to the previous wave of energy making the overall amplitude higher. Think about how a child gets a swing to move and an opera singer can crack a wine glass. Which brings up a very similar question, will singing break glass?
