I tried swapping ends just in case but nothing worked. What it is doing is not allowing you to screw to the top of the threads so the water leaks out of the hose a fair amount. I am going to try again just in case it was a quirky one because it is a nice shower head. Please note that it is a large shower head & you cannot use a shower shelf behind it, you will need a corner shower shelf if you need shelves. Easy to install and operate, everything works smoothly, good choice of flows, and has excellent pressure, especially with the restricter out. Both showerheads have similar settings and both work well. Showering is wonderful, and my rating would be 5 stars but I have deducted 1 star for the only negative, the way the smaller head attaches to the main head. The attachment must be turned sideways to attach or remove it, and It is difficult to get it to hold tightly in place in a desired position where it doesn't partially block the flow from the main showerhead.
