Mercer CulinaryForged Poultry Shears, 9.5 Inch

I really like these shears, and I've used them a lot on game birds. But --- If they came apart they would be much easier to clean; and they open a little wide even for me, and I have fairly large hands. They might be difficult for someone with smaller hands to use. Over all - Very Good.

These feel like really nice quality. Blades stay tight together and overall solid build.

i'd give it a 4 if the handle wasnt so slick..

Wife had trouble with control

I am a huge fan of Mercer Chef knives, so i decided to give these a shot. The are well made and have a night weight and feel to them, but they cut worse than my cheap pair i have that was 1/2 the cost . They also are a little slippery to hold once your hands get messy. They do the job though. I just don't think they are worth what i paid

I purchased these because they looked very sturdy and heavy duty on the site.I normally spatch cock my poultry and smoke it on my Traeger so I was looking for something more substantial than my regular kitchen shears.They didn't cut worth a darn - bones, skin, anything - and the metal handles were very slippery when wet or greasy. I had to use a kitchen towel to get a good grip on them.Bottom line, I sent mine back, I don't recommend them!

Great shears, these things made quick work of my thanksgiving turkey for spatchcocking. Very sharp, great handle length for high leverage. Goes right through small bones with no problems... Highly recommend everyone get a set and start spatchcocking (Flattening) their turkey

I have no idea why all of the other reviews are for different products, but I purchased the Mercer forged poultry shears and they are not up to the task of the most basic poultry cutting. They do not cut skin at all, don't cut through fat, and do - after a few goes - cut through bone/joint. They compare unfavorably to less expensive shears which, unfortunately, rust. I'm tossing these.
