Review: I highly recommend this unit. - I was looking something to supplement / replace my central air unit to save some money on electricity. Since we don't use all of the rooms in the house anymore, I wanted something that could cool just the spaces that we were using. I was looking for something that was 115 volts and efficient that I could use with my solar setup, but I didn't want to spend tons of money to purchase an expensive one and have someone install it, as it would defeat the purpose of trying to save money. I've researched mini-spits for weeks. This unit seemed to have the best warranty, and was the best bang for the buck, so I decided to give this one a try. Installation was pretty easy. The hardest part was drilling the hole thru the wall and not hitting anything (fail). Also, you need to make sure you don't kink the lines, and need to tighten them to spec. You WILL need a vacuum pump to evacuate the lines before releasing the freon from the outside unit. That said, this unit has performed very well this summer in the heat an humidity of upstate New York. This year we had a record number of days above 90 with lots of humidity. Some say a 12k unit can cool a 450-550 sf space. This unit advertises 750 sf. We are currently using it to cool about 733 sf, and it was able to maintain 74 degrees (that's what we set the temp to) during the hottest and days of the summer. We also keep ceiling fans and pedestal fans on to help circulate the air, and at times it seems very chilly, especially if you are in direct line of the vent. You can notice a significant difference when walking in from outside. It uses pretty close to the 10 amps that is stated, which is about what my 10k BTU window unit was rated for. Being able to run it on solar has saved me over 300 bucks on my electric bill this year. By next year it will have paid for itself. I have seen some complaints that then the vents swing back and forth, the arm breaks or something. I do not use that option. Mine just blows straight out, and works fine. I did not purchase it for that reason. I just wanted an A/C unit that cools my space on the hot days that I can run off my solar, while still allowing me to open my window and stick a fan in on the cooler days. A window unit did not allow me to do that. I have also not tried the heating portion, as I have not had it long enough, and I also did not purchase it for that reason, however it is a nice feature to have as backup if my main heating source failed, or there were a power outage, I know this will still run on my solar. Unlike my window unit, this thing runs so quiet, both inside and out that if there is anything else running, you would not be able to hear it. I really would like to get another one for my bedroom, but I'm waiting to see if the price will come down.

This summer has been nice and cool in an old house with very little insulation and old windows. It’s quiet, our electric bill has lowered, and it was easy for my husband to install. Just clean the filter weekly and make sure you keep the outside cleaned up and it’ll run perfect!

Works flawlessly, rapidly cools 20'X40' w/12' ceiling bedroom and maintains temp with no problem. I seldom run it below 73F but tested down to 69F. Texas hasn't gotten over a 100F yet this year, but not expecting it to struggle to maintain temp. Well packaged, well reinforced internally to prevent damage -- zero shipping damage -- this is extremely important. Purchased another brand (starts and ends with T) that was very poorly packaged/fell apart and missing parts, worried if it was going to work. Can't hear outside unit when in use, indoor unit could be a little quieter but still very quiet (I'm looking for absolute silence when sleeping). Came with everything you need to install. This is an unsolicited review -- I absolutely hate Vine reviews.
