Use Blue E-G only on aluminum. It is not intended for use on any other metals or materials. Blue E-G can change its shade of blue depending on how long it is in the dye bath. It can be a pale grayish blue if you do a shorter anodizing cycle. For a longer duration in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath, Blue E-G will look like a vivid sky blue. The anodizing process parameters have a significant impact on the properties of the oxide formed. This means that the color is dependent on the anodizing process. Blue E-G is RoHS compliant. Anodizing is an electrochemical conversion process. Anodizing changes the outer surface of the aluminum. Anodized aluminum has different characteristics than raw aluminum. The dye worked just as well as the other professional dyes I have used. I added a little bit of water to the container first shook it up really well then mixed it into heated water And it dissolved perfectly. It works best to have the color up to temperature when you are dying. I have tried three of this companies dyes so far all working great.
