Review: Versatile and balanced - Love the pickup. I've read a lot of good reviews on it so I can't contribute more but it's everything I expected. It is meaty and heavy when the OD is cranked but still has full clarity throughout and rings every note. It's warm without muddiness and can sing in the upper register without sounding screechy. Backing off the volume pot it still retains clarity and character. It's very well-balanced but still delivers heavy chords and muting with my tube amp head which is rare for a pickup to be so versatile and quality. It was shipped quickly and I have no complaints.
Review: Huge upgrade to an already good guitar - Un real. This is the best sounding pickup I have ever owned and I have owned lots. I put this in to a 20 year old MIJ sabre and I have a 5e3. Thats right, A tweed deluxe. I did not think for a second it would sound good with a fender tweed. I thought it would only serve to push a metal pedal or would sound overly shrill and harsh straight in to a tweed. I was wrong. This pickup can do big bottom, full chimey cleans all the way to modern high gain and anywhere in between. Classic rock, metal, crunch, clean, it does it all and sounds amazing with my 5e3.

**Q: Does the "f" in the model name dp 228fbk stand for f-spaced?**
A: The "F" in this model does indeed stand for "F-Spaced'.

**Q: What's the difference on what direction the bar is facing ?**
A: You can position this pickup with the bar facing either way. There is a slight difference in the tone when the pickup is reversed, you should try both ways to see which tone you like best. John Petrucci usually has this installed with the bar towards the neck on his guitars.

**Q: Would this be a good match for a maple neck Squier? something fat and less bright**
A: I put it in my Ibanez RG along with the Liqifire and they sound awesome. Crunch Lab is definitely not bright through my Ibanez. Also has good clarity. Would definitely be a good upgrade from stock pickups in my opinion.

**Q: Is this thing passive or active?**

Excellent bridge pickup! I have mine installed with the bar towards the bridge and the tone and sustain are excellent! It is very dynamic and works well playing clean or with distortion. A huge step up from the stock humbuckers that came with my Ibanez.
