**Q: does this work to plate out existing rust or if rust is removed help you identify if the contamination is still there?**
A: Copper sulfate 1M can be used for electroplating which can help resist rust. Never heard of using copper sulfate to get rid of rust.  Usually, an acid like phosphoric acid is what you use to get rid of existing rust.

**Q: Is this product of food grade quality when used at very low levels?**
A: This product is designed for scientific use and is not for consumption

**Q: Sorry I messed up my first question. If you are removing rust from an object can this be used to spray the area to ensure all rust has been removed?**
A: I'm sorry we can't confirm that. Again, we are not familiar with any application using copper II sulfate to either remove rust or use as a test for the presence of rust.
