Marshmallow coats and soothes inflamed or damaged tissue, creating a temporary mucus-like lining that promotes healing.Marshmallow performs similar feats in the reapiratory and kidney-urinary tracts and topically for the skin. It gently stimulates immune function, quells spasms, and decreases inflammation.Marshmallow is best used in tea, in a long-steeped cold or hot infusion or a decoction.You can also add the root to broths or soup, and the powdered root to oatmeal or gruel. Once it gets really slimy, you probably won't be able to strain it. When it comes in contact with water, it's normal for it to get like that... so don't be alarmed like I was.
