Fish love insects. Since the beginning of time, fish have been hunting insects because they are numerous and are a nutrient-rich food source. This instinctive eating behavior forms the basis of Bug BITES, in which the larva of the black soldier fly is the main ingredient of the recipe. We work with a unique and sustainable process and our larvae are thus grown with fruits and vegetables that are also suitable for human consumption, so that, unlike traditional insects, they offer certain benefits of a "superfood": excellent amino acid profile, high in protein, low carbohydrates, durable, no exoskeleton – well digestible for fish, extremely tasty, similar nutrient profile. As for the food of the highest quality natural ingredients - Bug Bites is more than insects. We've added other excellent protein sources, such as salmon, rich in omega 3 and 6, which ensures healthy skin, dandruff, fins and bright colors. In addition, we have added vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other trace elements essential to the health of your fish. We have given up artificial colors and preservatives to make Bug BITES a balanced and nutritious food. Quality Control For complete control and quality assurance, our ingredients are processed in small batches in our own factory. Five stars for the bargain bulk price. Bug Bites get a five star rating from me anyway, for being loved by the fish & having good, healthy ingredients. I like to switch out every day in what I feed my freshwater fish (mainly corydoras), even though they're pretty spoiled & prefer live food. They also really like Bug Bites, though, so it was great to find out there was this bulk size available. There's a lot 'o' food in that bucket! The granule size is just about right for my Panda corys, and I crush up some for the pygmies corys, other small fish & fry with a mortar and pestle.
