With simple assembly and no ashes flying about, it's the perfect companion for outdoor tailgates and barbecues. ## Description EZ Flame has reinvented the Charcoal Chimney. Lighting charcoal used to require lighter fluid which is dangerous to store and use, and leaves an unwanted smell or taste on your food. Using a regular chimney with newspaper requires pouring the hot coals out of the top of the chimney and results in ashes blowing around which is dangerous and messy. After years of research and design, here's the first of its kind EZ Start Charcoal Starter with the patented consumable EcoStart disk. Simply insert the EcoStart disk into the chimney, load your favorite charcoal and light the disk. The Eco-friendly disk (100% recycled corrugated paper with no chemicals) will be consumed as the charcoal lights. Then simply lift the chimney up and the glowing coals drop out of the chimney bottom leaving you ready to BBQ! Whether for yourself or as a gift for that BBQ lover, the EZ Start Charcoal Chimney will be the hit of the backyard or tailgate party! ## Features - Includes Ten (10) EcoStart Disks. A $3.00 value! (Additional EcoStart Disks Sold Separately) - Eliminates the smell and hazard of lighter fluid - No ashes from newspaper flying about - No need to pour out hot coals - Simple Handle Assembly is Required ## Images ![EZ Start Charcoal Chimney Starter Safer Easier Grilling Outdoor Tailgate Barbecue BBQ Eco-Friendly Chemical-Free - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31VRSjruPvL.jpg) ![EZ Start Charcoal Chimney Starter Safer Easier Grilling Outdoor Tailgate Barbecue BBQ Eco-Friendly Chemical-Free - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51CLJAlfezL.jpg) ![EZ Start Charcoal Chimney Starter Safer Easier Grilling Outdoor Tailgate Barbecue BBQ Eco-Friendly Chemical-Free - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61k-JJQE81L.jpg) ![EZ Start Charcoal Chimney Starter Safer Easier Grilling Outdoor Tailgate Barbecue BBQ Eco-Friendly Chemical-Free - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51-ef1rwt1L.jpg) ![EZ Start Charcoal Chimney Starter Safer Easier Grilling Outdoor Tailgate Barbecue BBQ Eco-Friendly Chemical-Free - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/514rCHmOtTL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars The chimney works great with no need to use lighter fluid *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2018* The media could not be loaded.  The chimney works great with no need to use lighter fluid. The disks used to ignite the charcoal cost $.30 each on sale which is a recurring cost, but the fact that the charcoal slides out the bottom with no danger of pouring them out is huge. This minor cost offsets the risk of getting burned and ensures the charcoal lights every time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars UPDATED REVIEW: Excellent product now with redesigned handle! *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2019* Update: July 4, 2019After the manufacturer saw my original review they informed me of their improved handle design for their innovative coal starter. There are reinforcement screws for the original handle as well as a model available soon with a foolproof handle included. This is not only a solid improvement to the product, bringing it back to my BBQ goto tools, but shows the manufacturer is dedicated to both continued product improvement AND customer service.I use this starter constantly and used to use the Weber starter. I hated pouring the coals out of the Weber because red hot embers always fly around. With EZ you gently lift and there are NO flying embers.I have NEVER had an issue igniting the starter discs. I keep them sealed in their original bag in my BBQ drawer. No need for lighter fluid here, I simply light 2 or three edges and it works every single time, faster than the Weber and without the burning paper ash flying out from under the Weber after raising it to pour out the coals.Nice job Bill and thank you for reaching out, I missed using your starter!Original Review:At first I thought this was a great upgrade from and already perfect Weber charcoal starter. The only drawback to the Weber is you have to pour the coals when they are ready, which after many years has never been an issue. Then this new idea for a starter come along, with replacement starting discs required which I was ok with. It was working great until one day I realized the handle is simply a dowel stuck between two tabs of metal! Of course this only became evident with a full can of coals that nearly burned me when I lifted the cab and the handle cam off and red hot coals went everywhere.I will figure out a way to reinforce the handle but the seller should reconsider this item as it is a law suit waiting to happen. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars The Chimney works great with the function of falling out the bottom *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2018* The Chimney works great with the function of falling out the bottom, however the fire starters are worthless and do not start. I had to use a lot of newspaper to get it going when these failed. I guess the issue now is that I still need to buy the eco discs inorder to hold the charcoal in --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/71094054-ez-start-charcoal-chimney-starter-safer-easier-grilling-outdoor-tailgate](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/71094054-ez-start-charcoal-chimney-starter-safer-easier-grilling-outdoor-tailgate) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
