## Description

Hex Effects is a dynamic “take that” card game of strategic sabotage, clever timing, and quick decision-making. Inspired by the mechanics of Side Effects and featuring all-new artwork from Pillbox Games, this fast and engaging tabletop experience challenges players to clear the Hexes displayed in front of them, known as their Shadow. Each game begins by dealing four face-up Hex cards to every player, setting the stage for a tense race to recovery. The remaining Hexes are shuffled into the deck, and each player starts with four concealed cards in hand. On every turn, players draw two cards and select two actions, with the primary goal of treating their Hexes using Remedy cards. But every Remedy comes with a twist: each one cures a specific Hex while exposing the player to new potential side effects—additional Hexes that opponents may exploit. This creates a constantly shifting battlefield of cures, counter-moves, and strategic opportunities. We did receive two Deus Hex Machina cards, which were a Kickstarter special and were not included in the box instructions. We were able to find their description online and they add an excellent element to the game!

This game is a lot of fun and easy to learn! My copy had two dues hex machina cards in it that were exclusive to Kickstarter. Had to look up how to use them since they weren't in the directions. During my search of the rules for the card, Pillbox games released a statement that the cards rule was in the instructions but not included in the game lol. I just found that funny lol. The card quality is great! Will definitely be looking to get their other game.
